“I’m not afraid of death. It’s the stake one puts up in order to play the game of life.”

Jean Giraudoux

Death is a natural part of everyday life. As natural as breathing and being, death happens on a daily basis. No one on this Earth will escape this fate, and in addition, everyone will go through the grieving process that comes with losing a loved one at some point in their lives.

The purpose of this blog is to put light on the beauty of death. Yes, death and the process of grieving can be a truly beautiful thing, and breaking the stigma of death being solely something that is scary and unknown is something that needs to happen, and it needs to happen now.

  1. This is a subject that I have given a lot of thought to ever since the last of my grandparents passed away. I even started my own blog partly in response to this. Around the same time I had started watching the TV show Six Feet Under which approaches the subject of death with irony and dark humor. I like to write also and have been giving serious consideration to taking a creative writing course to give me more structure in writing everyday. You are right that most people avoid talking about death even though it surrounds us and is a natural part of life. I do enjoy old photography where families attempt to memorialize dead family members including still born babies and child snuffed out by disease.
